Why abrasive coated resin fibre discs get distorted ?
Moisture is to fibre what heat is to metal. Normal moisture content (at typical ambient temperature and humidity ranges) is 5%-8%. This amount of moisture in fibre contributes to its resilience, punching and forming capabilities. Water softens or plasticizes it. In use, moisture variation can cause dimensional changes.
Again, most of these effects can be minimized or eliminated by using abrasive fibre disc holder which preshapes coated abrasive resin fiber discs.
